Who Am I?
Hello, I am Terri, it is nice to "virtually" meet you. I am in my early 30's with a fabulous husband, a very supportive family, the best friends around, and a love of entertaining. For years I have been in the floral business, owning several successful retail shops but my passion was for wedding and event floral. Hundreds of weddings and events behind me now I have decided to take a break to concentrate on my family and to have weekends. "Once creative, always creative." You just can not escape it, so although I am not hanging from the rafters draping garlands of floral each weekend I have found new outlets to channel my creative energy and thought "this is too good not to document". With the help of my husband Inspire Delight was born.
What is this all about?
For years now I have been asked: How did you do that? How do you make that? What is the recipe? Where can I get one? so on and so on. Here I will attempt to document those answers plus share everything that inspires me and the outcomes that delight me. Topics will center around making your home entertaining for yourself, your family, and others. From food to decor and everything in between I will address all that inspires me in the hopes you too will be inspired.
Where do I draw my inspiration?
First and foremost my family. When I first started contemplating this website I realized that my Grandmother has inspired me so much throughout my life from her love of gardening to her delicious work in the kitchen. Looking back at my adult life so far so much has stemmed from her inspiration. Additionally my Mother, Amber, and the rest of the clan have taught me so much and shared in all the experiences, the good, the bad, and the crazy! Next the friends, everyday I learn something from my friends. I love that we have such a wide variety of friends to share experiences of life with.
There are so many avenues to draw inspiration from your morning walk to the sunset from your back patio. Magazines, web sites, books, television - the media provides so many outlets for my mind to wander with ideas. Vacations, even the simplest ones (day trips even) just something to take you out of your element for the moment can rejuvenate you and find you in a world of ideas.
Every day life presents so many surprises, unexpected events that if you just open yourself to the little moments as well as the big ones you never know what you might find to carry with you as inspiration to turn the oridnary into delightful.
